Gabriel and her friend have taken part, and won the key stage 2 Yorkshire Primary Engineering competition held at Ridgewood School. The challenge was to build a motorised vehicle from materials they could find in a primary school classroom.

A few prototypes later and lots of glue and cardboard saw the birth of Shogun, a beautiful specimen with rubber banded wooden wheels (snow chains) and a balsa wood chassis.  An Audi inspired tinfoil body and a 3V motor with 2 x AA batteries were used to power the beast to victory.
The girls invested their precious lunch breaks over the past month to research and put together a comprehensive 25 page portfolio that really impressed the judging panel.
It was evident to see that the girls were over the moon at winning…..not half as much as the 2 proud dads!
