Lifesaving training is currently suspended until further notice

Lifesaving is based around developing the essential lifesaving skills through the junior Rookie programme and the Survive & Save programme leading onto the Pool Lifeguard award or possible competitions. We have in the past competed at National level.

It is important to understand that Lifesaving is not simply about swimming but also about how to react in an emergency situation. e.g

• A family member has a heart attack

• A child is choking

• An accident resulting in severe bleeding

These are Life Skills and have positive benefits to the whole community. Edlington Swimming Club, one of the few clubs to offer such training, has kept this section open so that our members can access this worthwhile training. Also the lifesaving awards, now being achieved, will make worthwhile additions to c.v.’s to compliment any academic achievements.
