A message from your former coach:

After leaving the club at such short notice as I did, I would like to explain why I felt I had to leave the club I had so much passion for.

At the beginning of 2007 I was forced to find a new employer, which resulted in working longer hours, this made it difficult for me to commit enough time to the swimming club and give the same standard of coaching I had previously given. It also gave me less time to spend with my family.

Although I tried to continue with the club and not let the club down, it became obvious to me and my family that I could no longer continue. I have loads of happy memories from the club and met many friends, but the most pleasure I got was teaching children, and I will miss each and every one of them, but as everyone knows family comes first and the difficult decision was made to quit the club, I will miss you all.

I would like to wish the club well and the swimmers all the success you deserve, it was a pleasure to coach you.

From Les

DMSA Skills Training Session

DMSA are running a Skills Training Session on a Saturday morning 8-10am at Hall Cross School, the cost per session is £2. This is extra training in readiness for pre-entry squad for DARTES.

Important Notice!

We are currently struggling with volunteers on the poolside. If you would like to become involved in helping children to learn to swim we would be grateful. It is the volunteers that hold the club together, without them we would not have a club. So if you are a parent that watches from the balcony would you like to see yourself as part of our team?

Even if you have as little as half an hour to spare, all will help. The club will provide a black poloshirt which is to be worn when on the poolside so that the children and parents are able to recognise who is part of the teaching and coaching team. If you would like to gain teaching, coaching or lifeguarding qualifications then the club will help you attend courses and subsidise so of the course cost.

If you are interested please contact Hop Davies.

If you have a story you would like to share with us on here, maybe what happened at a recent gala or ideas you have got for the club, please email Sally Jeavons (contact can be found on the contact page) who will put forward your ideas to the committee and will be posted on the website asap.
