The club has gone from strength to strength and now meets three times a week and whilst it still concentrates on teaching people to swim it still teaches Personal Survival and has an excellent Lifesaving section who compete at national level. There is a very good competitive section that competes at all levels from friendly galas, local leagues to County and National Age Group Championships.
The club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association our parent body and is bound by all its laws of the sport and codes of practice. The club however has its own constitution and is managed by a group of volunteers who form its management committee being elected annually at a General Meeting. All of its poolside teachers and coaches are volunteers giving their time freely, also gaining their ASA teaching and coaching qualifications in their own time.
The membership, both boys and girls, is drawn from a wider area than Edlington, as membership is open to all young people, subject to the Club’s waiting list.
